When looking at new truck buys, hacked up dashes are always a deal breaker not to mention doors drilled for speakers. Show me your before and after pictures of the transformation from hacked to OEM looking.
I still bought this: Cup holder, need to find another one.??????????? Attachment 1183699 |

Drill hole and have a bracket on the other side of the floor pan or weld on a nut to the floor pan? |

Fitz---
Even though Im pretty much "old school"---- I love your AFTER pic!! I have a couple questions-- where did you come up with the door panel metal insert? and------where did you come up with the dash pad????? nice looking Mods!! |
Re: Dashboard pics
A hacked dash isn't a big deal if you plan on doing any paint work to the interior. It's only metal after all.

I recently sold an 86 C10 "work truck" that had some nice patina on the hood. Also had some ugly rust elsewhere. That's the 'rub' (no pun intended) in terms of real patina. It's hard to have good patina without some bad side effects. cheers JohnG |

Re: Dashboard pics
In this day and age I wouldn't sweat a cut dash for a stereo. There is no real option for a stereo for the original stereo opening. I know that there are expensive conversions pieces that are essentially one offs but face the facts. These are trucks not corvettes. My truck has 47k original miles and the dash is uncut other than a few switch holes. If I could acyually hear a radio over the exhaust the dash would be cut. I am actually sick of looking at the hole in the dash.
