To make this bumper work on my 86 c10 and would it fit correctly afterwards?

It will bolt right up, but it has holes for the 81-82 blinker/marker lights as well as the holes for the rubber impact strips. it would be less hassle to get an 83-87 bumper.

Yep, it will fit. I have this bumper on my 86 C10.
