Hey Captain do you have a website where we can see your products or can you send me what you offer and the parts list that you have to have other than what you sell. I'd like to get a set of those rear disc brackets not real sure what else I will need.

One more question, how much does this entire upgrade cost with your bracket then the extras at the parts store. Has anyone added it up and compared options?

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets

Sorry, but with working 70-80 hrs a week, I just do not have time to build my website. Most of what I have to sell is in the links in my signature line. There are a couple more links in the for sale threads.

Each of the 5 rear disc conversion brackets I sell, come with a parts list of what you need to complete the installation. The main parts are mentioned in each for sale thread.

That was done some time ago. Check out post #32 in this thread.

Do you offer a bracket for Dana 60's from 72 C20 using caddy Eldorado calipers? Thanks. Jim

Hello Jim

No I do not. Have you checked with Ruff Stuff Specialties, or DIY4x? You will want to be sure to get brackets specifically for a Dana 60 with the GM housing ends.

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets

I'm curious,

A '72 C10 with factory disk on the front, if I swap out to the Wildwood D52 calipers up front. Is it possible to reuse the factory front disk brakes with your brackets on the rear?

Captainfab 09-30-2013 10:46 PM

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets

Since your '72 C10 has D52 calipers, yes they will bolt up to these brackets. You could likely use the hoses on the rear also.

I know it's been several months, and my project slowed so I forgot about it for awhile, but I'm finally to the point of installing my Eldorado calipers, and was wondering if you ever got that run of levers completed? If so what would a set go for?

Thanks,

Drew

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets

I have had the levers done for some time now. It is the cable brackets that I just have not found the time to complete. I guess I'll have to bump my work week up from 70hrs. Let me see if I can get something done on those in the next couple days

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets

That would be awesome!
Here are a few shots of the installation for others to see how things look. I am using the Eldorado brake pads and they fit just fine.

First bracket that fits flush to the inside of the 4 bolt mounting flange

Shot of the brackets installed, the large thick bracket has a recess on one side that should face the backside of the axle. This is to allow the caliper piston area clearance.

A couple of shots with the calipers on, and one from the top down to show where it sits in relation to the axle.

Also, the wheels are stock Rallye 15x8 and they have plenty of clearance all around..

THanks for posting those pics Twisted, looks good

I did make a little progress this evening. I finished cleaning up the laser cut parts, deburred them and got them formed. Hopefully tomorrow evening, I can get a set finished up and test fit them.

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets

I'm ready for a set of levers and brackets as soon as you get time to put them together. Thanks for these,

not an easy find otherwise..

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets

Well, I've made some progress with the levers and cable brackets. However I discovered that the pair of calipers that I have are not quite the same. I did not realize that when I made the levers. So now the levers only work on one caliper and not the other.

Twisted78SS, it looks like the caliper in your pics above is like the one that I have that the levers won't work with. Can you post pics of both of your calipers, viewed from the shaft side?

Will do, as soon as I get home this evening.

Hey Captainfab; I have a 94 Gmc ext.with the usual 10 bolt. We talked earlier(thro e-mails) and you told me that there is nothing yet fabbed for us (88-98) trucks. Well I am staring at my 1977 12 bolt rear diff. now and am guessing that this mod will now fit my new rear diff. setup once I install it !!! AmI correct now !!! I will be one happy guy if its true as I always wanted disca all way around on my truck !!! Thanks for responding and what are my choices if it does fit now !!! (Price too)

Thanks for the pics Twisted78SS.

That shows what I was afraid of. The one caliper that I have and was using for mockup in designing the levers and cable brackets, does not have the extra nub cast into it as yours do. That drastically changes the position of the lever in relation to the cable brackets that I currently have made upSo it looks like it is on to plan B..

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets

Yes these rear disc brackets, as well as the other 2 for the 5x5 wheel stud pattern, will work with your '77 truck 12 bolt. The '64-'82 truck 12 bolts and the '80-'87 truck 10 bolts all have the same backing plate flange as well as the same brake offset.

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets

Bummer for sure, I know how much time it takes, and how precious time can be when also working full time plus. If there is anything I can do to help, don't hesitate to ask.

I have a few sets of the later eldorado calipers as well, might look to see if I could modify the brackets off one set. Who knows.. But I'm not hopeful as they are pretty different

Captainfab---You have come thro again !! Thanks from me and I am sure there is alot more of that out there too !!!
