WIERD vibration tapping sound on right turns...

OK, here's a wierd one. Now that I have my performer intake/carb in I've noticed an old demon is back to give me grief.

Back about 9 or 10 months ago I had a wierd hollow tapping sound every time I took right turns. It always happens when I'm using the gas a bit while I'm turning. It never happens on left turns. I thought it might have been one of the power steering hoses banging against the fender inside the engine compartment (which would lead me to believe that the power steering pump had problems), but the hose is far enough away that I can't see enough vibration to make that happen.

Then I rebuilt my front and back suspension, and the noise went away....until my new intake and carb were in, and now it's back. It also sounds like it's coming from the passenger side anyway, so I don't know what the hell it is.

Does anyone know what this could be??? Remember: new suspension, with everything nice and tight and brand new. The only things I haven't touched is the starter, the fuel pump, the power steering pump (and the hook-ups) and the master cylinder.

Do you have a posi rear-end? When they start making noise it is usually just on right hand turns. GM makes an additive that will usually shut them up if that is the problem. Cab mounts? Lug Nuts? Hard to tell without hearing it. It might help to get someone to drive the truck while you ride it the back to help track down where the noise is coming from. Noises will really fool you on where they are actually coming from when listening in the cab.

once i had a mystry noise turned out the engine mounts had slop in them and under certain circumstances i got a noise from the fan hitting the shroud of the radiator, check to see if the very tip of the fanblade is shiney

No posi, and the exhaust is in tight.

....the engine mount thing has got me thinking. I'm going to check the fan shroud. It would be really easy to test that one...
