Cheapest way to remove old bondo. IDEAS?

I'm getting ready to start the teardown process and strip all the old paint and mud off the truck and I don't have a compressor yet so how can I get started to remove some of the thicker areas of mud/paint?

pretty much the way to go// the coarser the grit the better 40 or 60 will cut it quick DON'T FORGET A RESPIRATOR!!! or at the least a good dust mask and eye protection

yea, if you have a angle grinder, put a flapper disk on it and tear it up. actually it won't tear it up much, but it should take it down to bare metal really fast unless you have a bunch of dents. just be sure to wear a dust mask and stay out of the wind.

Yea thats what I thought. I need to get a bigger angle grinder and I can get my hands on some 60 grit at work. Thanks

do you have access to a flame........burn it off and then take a scraper and it'll break right off

I prefer the wire wheel on the angle grinder. It rips through the bondo & doesn't load like sandpaper.

that's the worst smell i've ever smelled. it might be toxic to do that anyways. when welding i've set bondo on fire a couple times, but it does peel off easy when it cools.

Got the truck in storage building just in time for all this great weather were having in Kansas and will be getting started in the next couple of weeks. I'm in the process now of getting the wood floor out of it and the tailgate off and on stands then the bed... I'll get some pics tomarrow of the start...
