1972 Chevy SWB Fleetside For Sale in pieces

I purchased this truck in November of 2006. I have it torn down in my garage. We are going to build another house and I do not have the time to complete this project.

1972 Chevy C-10, SWB, Fleetside bed, factory a/c & tilt cab.
The truck was not an original SWB. Frame is a 1968 SWB.

The frame, control arms, trailing arms, spindles, coil springs, rear end housing, crossmembers, bumper brackets, hood hinges, hood latch support, and other misc. items have been blasted and powder coated black.
(50% gloss level)

The frame is mostly assembled. It has a ECE 4/6 drop kit, ECE stainless rear gas tank, stainless brake lines, ECE front sway bar kit, ECE Hidden Hitch, ECE Moog front end kit, New trailing arm bushings, and new rear bumper brackets.

The rear end has been professionally set up with an Eaton Posi unit, 4:11 gears from Randy's Ring & Pinion and all new seals and bearings. I have the posi traction additive and redline oil for it.

I have 2001 5.3 and a 4L60E trans with approx. 80k on it. I have the ECE engine mounts for the LS engines. The motor has been installed and all holes drilled for the mounts and the frame notched for the A/C before it was powdercoated. I also had the drive shaft professionally cut to size and the correct shaft for the 4L60E installed and a new rear U-joint.

The cab has been media/glass blasted and coated with Duponts Epoxy primer. The floor is currently cut out but a new one piece floor from Goodmark is sitting beside it . The one with the mounts. I also have both er rockers, Rt & Lt drip rails, both cab corners, and front and rear pillar patch panels.

The new sheetmetal I have is for a 1968. I have Rt & Lt doors and fenders. I have a new radiator support. They are all from Goodmark and still in the boxes. I also have a stainless/black body bolt kit from GMC Pauls. The cab bolt and mount kit. The bed mount kit.

I have a 1968 grill and hood that are very usable. New chrome bumpers and a new tailgate with the Chevrolet logo in it.

The bed floor is in good shape and it not wavy. I got it from a board member in Georgia. The sides and front panel should be replaced in my opinion.

I have over $10,000 in parts, $1000 in outsourced labor, plus the truck that I can account for. That does not include any of my labor. I have receipts for most of it but I am not sure if I have all of the receipts. I have gone back and for as to sell or not but I thought I would list it on here to see if I have any interest. I really do not want to part it out. It would make someone a good project. I am sure that I have forgot some things but I will post if I think of something else.

I am asking $9500.00 OBO.

Please let me know if anyone has any questions. You can email me at bajadan24@aol or PM. I will try to post pictures but I can take any requested pcitures and email them also. Thanks.

I know I really should keep it but I am also trying to become Debt free! This would help me reach my goal quicker. Not to mention I also have a 1967 Camaro project in the garage that I want to get going on!

Where are you located at in Indiana?

Re: 1972 Chevy SWB Fleetside For Sale in pieces

Chevydog66-I am in Corydon, Indiana. I am about 30 miles west of Louisville KY. It is about 3 1/2 hours from Ft Wayne.

st1x10-I can not seperate the Moog parts as I need to get them put on to make it a roll around. However I do have Tie rods, links, and ball joints for a 1968 model front end. They are new but have been painted with Eastwoods chassis black. I will take $250 for all. I ordered the wrong ones the first time from ECE.

I thought that might be the case but I wanted to offer them. I had them for sale awhile back but no takers. Looks like they are headed to Ebay.

I have well over $12k in it not counting labor. Any interest at all? Thanks

I hope I may give you a veiwpoint you may have not thought of yet. What you have done is definately top quality! And you have definately spent the money. THe problem comes in the fact that the truck is not together. Most people look at that and see a pile of parts, with some question as to whether or not everything will be there in the end. THey look at spending 9500, and realize they will have to spend even more money on top of that, and it makes them shy away. For the same or less money someone could find a nice running driving truck, ( although not nearly to this level) and do the work themselves and have the knowledge that the little nickel and dime parts are there. THere in lies the other problem, Most people on this board have the mechanical ability to do much of the work themselves, so we all like to think we can do things for less. Please don't misunderstand me, I'm am in no way knocking the beautiful work you have done, and I'm positive it's worth it, but the price seems/feels big for what you see in the pictures... a pile of parts. My suggestion would be to assemble the vehicle as far as you can and sell it, or part it out. People on this board are looking for good cabs, nice complete rolling frames, etc, etc. You could probably come very close to your asking price by parting it. This is Just my opinion, so please take no offense.
Shawn

I have a friend that is interested, but he says the price is too high for him. I printed out the pics and info and gave it to him last night. So maybe he will let me know within a few days. Got any more pics? So what is missing?

Re: 1972 Chevy SWB Fleetside For Sale in pieces

jorgensensc- I totally agree with you. I wish I had the time to complete the truck right now but the time just isn't there. I just thought I would list it on here in hopes someone was looking for a nice project that would save them some money for the same parts. Yes you can build one cheaper but not with the same parts and materials just as you mentioned. If it doesn't sell then I will try to get it assembled this winter. The problem is I won't want to sell it when its done! I have considered parting it out but I would want everything sold. I do not want to be stuck with a bunch of parts and nothing to assemble. I have never sold a project uncompleted so I appreciate the input.

I had another member PM for my bottom dollar. I will take $8000.00 firm. I feel that is a very fair price for what is there. I have been busy working on our churche parsonage but I will try to get some more pictures this weekend.

Any interest! We just found out we have another little one on the way so the funds and the time are going to become less. Any reasonable offers out there?
