Finally some good news.
 

I've mentioned before that I am not a mechanic, or body guy and my desire for a nice blazer is high, so I am forced to find pro's to do much of my work, which includes taking the tub off one blazer and bolting to another frame. I finally had a guy tell me that he would look at it this week. If the price is right, I'm tempted to tell him to just take the whole thing and call me when he is done. I'm sure the sound i just heard was cringing by many of you guys, but I have to do what I do best, manage. Oversee the operationa and dole out responsibilites. It is for the greater good, and another 72 4x4 K5 will be back on the road.

In a perfect world i would be out in the garage, but since I spend 3-4 nights per week traveling for work, my few moments at home are valuable.

I see your point. I know that my first 2 trucks i restored/repainted were not at all perfect. It took me a few just to get the hang of it. I'm still learning and i wouldn't call any of my trucks "show quality". If you are gone a lot and have the money, you will end up with a nice blazer the first time (if you pick someone who has a good reputation.

i hear ya, man...i know i dont have a blazer and technically dont belong on this board, but I am going thru a similar situation. I have college 3 days a week (full time) and work 4 days a week (part time, 30 hrs). also, my GMC is now my daily driver. i can't afford to do anything it seems, let alone work on it! I have all kinds of plans...dual exhaust, headers, cam, lift, bodywork, paint, TOWHOOKS, but I cant do anything about it. I have to do all my work at home, thankfully my dad is a mechanic and can show me things and let me use his tools. But I am impatient! I want my truck to be how I like now! ha ha

I know that there is a company in California that will "restore" your Blazer to what ever extent you want. http://www.gmtruckcenter.com/. One of the guys on ColoradoK5 had his done there. It looked really nice. Since then, he has sold it though. I have also come across another place that will restore trucks. Either you provide the truck or they will find one for you. It was very expensive though.

It all depends on how much you want to spend if you are going to pick and choose one thing you don't want to skimp on is body and paint. If that looks crappy it all does. You have one of the best know world wide right here in Virginia White Post Restorations. Performance Auto Crafters in Locust Grove Paints many of the NHRA pro street and funny cars you see on TV. Had them paint my 69 camaro
