some fun shop pics

I finished mowing last night, came into the shop and thought what a cool pic. How often do you have a 1939, 40 and 41 all in the shop at the same time? I had to replace my header gaskets and a wiper transmission on the 41 coupe, still working on the 39 when I have time(not much lately) and park the 40 in there at night. Anybody else with some fun shop scenes?

To be honest with you, those pics look like alot of work! But that's just me, after 7 years of working on my piece of junk.

I have been working on the 39 for about 43 years now, on and off(mostly off). But it is on the agenda for this winter to be at least a driving, stopping truck by next spring.

This is my home shop. It is a lot different working on my own cars than a customer car. I can whine all I want about how long it takes and how much it costs and then ignore the whining all in one shot. I used to do a lot of the customer work downtown, I finished a major customer 1940 Ford project last summer, but I have been mostly stuck in the front office for the last 2 years after letting my office help go(don't ask).

well stated!
I get calls all the time to build trucks for people, one guy came and looked at a truck and said "if you build me one like this, but with this change and that change, I will gladly pay your asking price". I told him the truck he was driving was the only one I had for sale, that I could make small changes to it but I didnt take customers because they frequently had unrealistic expectations on the schedule and the cost. (he was offering essentially the same price for an upgraded drivetrain and suspension, proving my point) they also do a fair amount of changing their mind and are especially good at creeping the scope. I am a contract engineer, and deal with all of that enough.

i know its been a while for this thread. i was working at the downtown shop yesterday on a customers '41 he just dragged out of a shed. i thought this is a pretty good picture. the orange one is a '40, the one on the hoist is a '41 that is getting a used engine and the '46 that we use as advertisment in front of the shop that needs a master cylinder put on it. i am just getting back to full time work after breaking my leg in june. so i dont move as fast as i used to but i want to get the '41 done and out of here so i can get the plow truck ready to go. how often do you get a 40, 41 and a 46 in the same space?

Some Great Shop Pics

I'm loving those shop pictures :chevy: .

I'm sorry to hear you broke your leg, I hope you followed all the P.T. stuff and are as close to good as new is possible .

I'm retired now and miss having a shop to work in ~ I have a 1923 'T' Model Ford garage I've never even had a Motocycle in, I work out side on Concrete under a canvas canopy .

I love the wild bed on that ?1939? 3100 .

Cool shop and garage pictures everybody. I know I'm in the wrong area to ask this, but I want to hear about that white square van.
