Help needed to buy a 71 Cheyenne
Hello group. I am considering purchasing a 1971 Cheyenne. Could you guys help me value the truck? I will wait before posting pics or a link to pics.

I can certainly understand not posting a link, so no one else jumps on it, but you really need to post more information. Nobody in the world can even remotely value a truck from what you have posted. I have seen them sell anywhere from, $500- $50,000. LockDoc |

Would it be better to post a link to a pic gallery? Truck has new radiator and alternator.

Link to the photos of the truck. Please keep in mind-this is rural Alabama/Mississippi. You can throw a rock in any direction and find a C-10 in some type of condition.

Im sure opinions will differ greatly. Is the roof rust just surface or is it rusted through (which is what it looks like to me). If its just surface rust, i would say its a 4k truck around here. If the rust is through, i would have a hard time touching it at all. Maybe 1500 as a driver. It is a cheyenne super which is a big positive

I would say in the $3-4000 range if it runs and drives and has a title. Looks like it need lots of little things, but being a super is a plus.

IMO, Look for another truck. Some rust is expected. It looks like it has more than it's fair share.

Re: Help needed to buy a 71 Cheyenne
I have replaced a roof and I don't recommend it but it is possible. The inside structure once exposed to water, channels it between the drip rails, down the back of the door jamb and back of cab skin as well as to the rubber gasket around the windshield. You can see it in one of the pictures on the driver side where the door is open. Unless you are looking for a rough truck to beat around in or to part out, I would pass.
