Best place for weatherstrip

Picked up 72 Blazer that has no weatherstrip in the doors or window area of the hardtop. The strip at the front of the top appears good as well as the bedside seals. The LMC catalog appears to be from 1972 compared to other suppliers and I've seen quite a bit of product on Ebay. Any preferences?

GMCPAULS. He's a vendor on here and the LMC rubber is just not up to par with what Pauls sells.

Do not buy the door seals yet. We are in the final stages of producing a press on style that will be easy to install and function well. GMC Pauls will no doubt stock them once they are available.

Follow any of our social media for updates.

Thanks

If we approve them after testing, it will be about 3 months. If I was you I'd wait.

I was in bad need of some new door weatherstrip.....so since my top is already off.......
for the time being I just bought a set of the push on truck style and modified to fit my Blazer....they are fantastic....
you can bet I will be all in for a set of Blazer specific ones as soon as they become available....

Re: Best place for weatherstrip

I’m interested in these as well. My only concern is I bought a set for my 72 C10 and granted the old seals were warn it was a pain to close the doors with the new push on set. Had to slam the crap out of the doors to get them to shut. Hopefully these will be a different story.

I can't wait. Will be watching.

Initial testing appears to be good. I would like to test fit these myself though so if there's anyone within 1-200 miles of Tulsa, Let me know!

I'm installing weatherstrip right now - if you can send these to me overnight t I'll test fit. And compare to NOS. See link to my build in my signature below.

Those are the pickup truck push on seals. The Blazer ones are quite different because of the shell.

I will update this thread with progress and when they will eventually be in stock.

Re: Best place for weatherstrip

@ Derek (Precision Parts)

Just wanted to make a related comment. The repro roof rail seals for single wall 72 K5 tops lack an integrated metal support piece on the lower end and consequently don't fit as well as OEM. I've got a NOS seal on one side and repro on the other and there's a noticeable difference in fitment. Would be great if Precision rolled out single wall seals with the metal component that improved on that made by a competitor (I do not see that Precision makes a single wall top to glass seal).

Also, the roof rail seals listed on your website do not specify single versus double wall top application. It looks like these are for double wall tops. https://www.prp.com/product/detail/1...lazer&type=All Specifying the application in the product description might be helpful to the customer.

I appreciate the products your company produces.

Sorry for the late reply. I made the change to the description on our website to make it clear that these fit the double wall. Thanks for the heads up!

I will bring the single wall version up with sales and R & D, but maybe slim chance of reproducing it because of the cost in tooling with low potential sales.

BTW, you're not to far from our mfg/distribution plant in Wausau.;)

We still need to do some minor testing before approving.

I would be a buyer for the single wall set. I have no real use for the double wall.

I need single wall also... what is the difference between the two? The windshield header is the only spot were the body meets the top.

We're waiting on new prototypes to arrive for further testing which I'm confident will work work. Then we can go into production. I don't expect production to hit any early than the 1st of the year at this point. Again, I we update this thread when we are at that point.
