What is a good street setup for a 350?

Curious as to what you guys are running? My truck won't be driven to much if I decide to build the motor and I'm curious what are good setups. Carb wise, heads, intake, cam, fuel pump, exhaust?

My friend has a 350 with victor jr heads, with a high rise intake, demon carb, mild cam I believe, some headers and that think is pretty awesome. Any ideas? I don't know much about head selections and what goes good with what. Also is there anything not cheap but is it possible to build a semi fast motor with about 5-7k?

If you have that type of budget, I'd step up to a stroker 383, about a 9-1 compression, 5.7 con rods, 272 cam, aluminum heads

If it is not a daily driver....the sky is the limit! I have seen no issues on pump fuel, damn close to 10 to1 (aluminum heads, toss the heat, & help with the situation)? My old 383 was @ 9.8 static, & ran a fairly mild cam ....the XE268, is fairly rowdy in a 327 or 355....it pulled 16.5" vac in my 383, & idled with a slight hint of lope. Into the power band good, from 2500-5700, & burned 90-91 pump fuel! Deeper in the gear, & higher on the verter stall....that puts the "icing"" on the mix;) As far as carb...you might look at the Quick Fuel offerings....if you don't plan over 6000 revs, don't go real big? Little bro put a 650 Quick Fuel DP on the old 383, for track use. He ran 13.1 @102, in his S-10....my old 383, with street tune/edlbrock carb, & shifting @ 5200 revs. Not track tuned yet this yr, but we are looking for a 12.5-12.7 ride....if he don't go there, he will have to let the "crazy brother" loose on that track  Longhorn

What aluminum heads are we looking at? And intake manifolds?
