Re: '67 Short Step #2
I like the exhaust system. I have thought of doing something similar but on both sides since I have a V8.

We're Back!
The last few years have been full of life changing events and circumstances and the truck has been kept mostly tucked away in a dark dusty corner. I've made a few small improvements to the interior lately and had a new set of tires installed. This past winter fellow board member Robert aka Bobbo made a weekend road trip to help with the install of a new camshaft. I chose a Comp Cams turbo grind camshaft by Tom Lowe @ www.12bolt.com Another friend and I finally backed the truck out last night for yet another first start and break in. I posted the link to a short video of the break in below. Make sure your volume is turned down.. https://youtu.be/MK0jXJTnb8A |
Re: '67 Short Step #2
Good to see ya and the ole girl back in action.
I guess I need to reread all your build since I got a 6-banger now that will need a few tweaks. :D |
Re: '67 Short Step #2
Thanks.
This book and www.12bolt.com are what you need to build a performance inline six. https://www.amazon.com/Chevrolet-Inl.../dp/1931128278 |

Haven’t had much run time since the last update but I keep having bad luck with machinists and cylinder heads. Decided this time instead of removing the head bolt boss in the intake ports I’d grind them into a wing shape and go with bigger valves. 1.94” intake and 1.6” exhaust. Also pulled the engine to replace the rear main and gave it a fresh repaint. Oh and also picked up a 292 for later!

Got it all back together with a couple changes. Using a 5 pin ignition module from an 80’s GM HEI with spark control and a Hobbs switch to pull 10* of timing when the intake is pressurized. Also installed the Innovate SG1 boost controller with map sensor and wideband. It has the ability to change boost levels from the dash and also cut boost under rich or lean conditions. Painted it to match and installed under the cluster. Also got and new tailgate from Mak-k. I’ll post some pictures of the painting and finishing of that later.

Just finished reading your whole thread. Very cool truck! I like that you are keeping at it with the Inline 6. Always good to see so many diffrent trucks on this forum. Such a vast collection of knowledge, skill and information! Keep at it and hope you are back on the road again soon.

Finally got it out and drove the truck several miles for the first time since like 2010! I’ll try to post some videos later.
