you might as whell use the bottom of the hitch assembly as the top mounts of the bags it should hold just fine and you can hide the airlines only the exaust might be in the way , i see you allready have some boxsection welded in there to fill the gap for the hitch setup and it looks like it would place the bags pretty close to the leafsprings

Leaf springs, we dont need no leaf springs.

i have a hunch that Ryan has some bracketry to 4 link his truck and eliminate the current springs entirely and get them bags out wide enough to promote good stability.

I got some more done yesterday. I removed the old rear cross member, welded in the new, and removed the rest of my tank cross members. I then welded up all the un used holes from the goose neck back. Next I'll replace the last OEM cross member and then remove the stock suspension.

Hi Ryan. Whats your hyd clutch exerience? Im abt to mount my master cyl and dont like the oem dodge 1/4 turn master. I will use the getrag slave but was hopin 4 something with a little better mount than the oem dodge master. Any thoughts ?

You could use a Ford master and Dodge slave, but there is a little bit of adapting that will go on. What exactly dont you like about the 1/4 turn master? Aftermarket 3rd gen use a bracket that bolts to the firewall.

The 3rd gen still twist into the bracket. We've only had one truck have issues with the master cylinder popping out out of many. You can use a 94-97 ford f-250 and 350 master and line on a dodge slave and it'll work fine. The ford master bolts on to the firewall.

I know, but if he was worried about fabbing a hole in the firewall of his conversion for the 1/4 turn hydros, that would be a way around that, just like your firewall.

It's going to go in between the goose neck hitch and the rear cross member. The 40 gal burb tank I have fits in there pretty good. I'll take pics of that when I get it back in there.

Hi ryan. thanks for the advice. My prob with the 1/4 turn job is it will be mounted under the floor. To work with the 56 pedals etc. I took the bracket from behind the firewall on the dodge but it just seems too easy to turn. I had visions of it popping out and me trying to get it all back together when the eng is hot. I will try to locate a ford unit and fab brkt accordingly.

Thanks again .

Right where all the exhaust is going to try and go...

I thought he said something about one of those contraptions on the front that eats small cars struggling with a Yakima roof carrier and turns them into fuel.

I removed the last stock cross member today and welded in the new. Now I have to remove the rear suspension, and get welding holes up. Then it'll be on to boxing the frame and getting the 4 link brackets placed and welded on.

Yep, pretty much sums it up. Exhaust routing is going to be fun. The easy way would be a stack, but IDK if I really want to go that route at the moment.

It fits in there pretty nice. I need to get the frame boxed, set the bed on, and see how much room I don't have above the frame first.

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion

You dont have, pretty much any... the bedfloor supports are at the top of the frame. if you want to notch them you could have some room.

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion

You should go with the regular exhaust, I dont think a stack or dual stacks would look good on that truck. plus it will be cleaner for the truck an any trailer that you haul.
