New project!

So, in the quest to build a k20, I have been scouring old farms, marketplace, even craigs list to find parts to build a 4x4 frame or a 4x4 frame in general (hens teeth around here). Well talking to a old farmer he mentioned a old gmc sitting in his pasture, that was next on his scrap list. I had to take a look at it, and well, it followed me home. the ole boy owned it since 1979, and its sat since 1993. Now, i know what you are thinking, that im going to part it out, but, thats where i throw a curveball, trucks so original that it has the factory split rims, gm door sticker, and oil bath air cleaner.

looking at the size of those mud dauber nests you might need an environmental impact report before you do anything with it. cool old truck, you going to try making it run ?:metal:

Thanks all, I'm hoping to be able to salvage the bedside and keep the patina look. First order of business is to make it safe by getting rid of the split rims, and do a disc conversion on the front using my 72 parts rig for spindles. And get it running and driving. It's my wife's bosses old truck. He's happy to hear my plan for it. May even lower it in the rear some.

Not much of an update today, except I removed the tree from the bed, and did a bit of a look-see to the rust, definitely gonna get good with my welder on this one
Currently in the stages of gathering parts for my 69 k10 to k20 build so progress will be slow on this one

Major update, she runs and moves. now to find a carb kit to rebuild the monojet and figure out why it was parked. theres a new water pump in the passenger seat so probably will start there. if i knew how to post a video i would.
