03 2500hd questions
I bought this truck new and finally I'm getting around to modding it a little. It is a single cab long bed work truck package. It has the factory 2in lift on it already.
I plan to crank the torsion bars on it, but what size tires will I be able to fit? I wanted to do 33s, but I have a feeling they won't fit. What are some good shocks for it? I feel it is time to get new shocks. It has 160k miles on it right now. I think that is it, but I'm sure that I will have more later. Thank you! |
Re: 03 2500hd questions
Bump
I am going to order michelin ltx at2s for it in the next month or so. What size should I get? I would like 33s, but I guess I can settle for 31s. |
Re: 03 2500hd questions
You can get 33's under there, I have an '04 2500HD with the torsion bars cranked and while i currently have 235-75R16's on it I'm replacing them with 285-75R16's. I would like to add, however, that cranking your torsion bars can ruin the ride, it is a lot rougher than stock suspension or any suspension lift and for me it just doesn't feel right. The previous owner did it to the truck I purchased and I haven't got around to fixing it yet. I would recommend using a Kryptonite leveling kit or something similar if you just want to gain a couple inches for 33's.

Re: 03 2500hd questions
Awesome! Tha k's for the reply. It rides rugs now, o can't imagine it any worse! Lol I will more than likely go with a leveling kit, I want to stay away from cranking the torsion bars so I don't end up with weird wear patterns. I am glad I can fit 33s under it! Should look mean! I am going to have me wheels painted a really dark gray too. Can't wait!

Re: 03 2500hd questions
Does your truck utilize a rear lift block? I have seen new trucks in the past on a dealer lot with an aftermarket lift that was installed by the dealership.

Re: 03 2500hd questions
I have seen 2 inch lift blocks on 1/2 ton models but never on a 3/4 ton. My 03 2500HD 4WD does not have lift blocks, neither does my neighbor's or my best friend's trucks.

Re: 03 2500hd questions
Crank the t-bars. I did that on my 04 CC 2500HD. And BFG 285's fit nicely.
By the way, BFG AT's are THE WAY to go. I had Revo's on there when purchased...they barely lasted 40k miles. The BFG's have 60+K on them, and still going strong. and MUCH better in rain, snow and off road. Just saying... |
Re: 03 2500hd questions
Yeah I looked and there is no lift blocks. Could it be a more arched spring in the rear?

Re: 03 2500hd questions
