Garage Built

This is my 67 C-10, I decided last year that I wanted to take on a project truck.
What was I thinking? I bought this truck last July. It has a 454 with a TH350 and plants the American dreams through a set of 4:11 Gears.I had Big Block goggles on and a little knowledge of C-10s. so I didn't know what to look for all I saw a 454 and a solid frame. When I left with the truck I knew it needed to be rewired and that awful intake manifold paint needed to go.

Upon inspection the following morning I knew I was in deep and did not dare tell the wife.

Looks like a solid project! What are your plans?

First thing you should do is sell me those hideous old hub caps... ;)

So I did what any car nut would do start tearing down that’s when I found the cabs shotty patches. After debating with how far into this I was willing to go we decided to pull the engine to see what condition it was in. That's when it just started snowballing.

After that it was a mandatory that the trucks suspension was to be rebuilt with all new parts and a disc brake conversion to stop that truck with the big block. I went ahead and ordered the CPP no guessing kit
Im pretty sure those upper ball joints were from 1967 :banghead:

Installed the front brake conversion and realized my OEM rims are not large enough to clear the caliper….
So there it sat for the weekend. ( ill let yall in on a lesson I learned the hard way PAINT your spindles from CPP they are bare cast and I didn’t im still annoyed at myself for that one )

Then it sat dormant for a good 5 months
I had installed the Front suspension and disc conversion and the drop springs front and rear
My family added a little one

One weekend I decided well… lets just take this thing down to a frame off restoration status ( Half Ass ) I had just watched Finnegan's garage and said I can pull my cab off that same way its only 4 bolts
Then it sat for a couple more months

A month ago we have moved into a much comfortable shop and its back on track we took this frame down to bare metal with a wire wheel cause well lets face it these trucks are built on budgets

When I started this build I knew that big rims just were not for me or what the build is supposed to be so I had to have 15s
found these on the Texas C/10 page
They polished up nice for sitting in the field for a while

So while the truck has been getting some TLC I have time and space in my garage again. That BBC has been getting my attention after I get off of work as well here a few progress pictures to catch yall up
When I opened this thing I found that it had been freshly rebuilt
So after a good clean up and checking tolerances and such
it is time to start assembly. You should always tap the threads before you assemble so it goes on smoothly.

So... now we are caught up in real time
The frame is painted and waiting for assembly
The engine is ready for Assembly
This weekends project was to get rid of that awful blue intake manifold
stripper and a dremel is what it took to do the job

Looking good so far! How do you like that CPP brake/spindle kit? I've been thinking about ordering the same for my '68.

Nice truck to start with. It looks really rust free and that bed is so nice. I like watching Finnegan's garage too. I'd really like to have his budget.

I really like your Dad's truck too. It's pretty sweet!
