Column Change

Will a 93 steering column from a chevy truck fit on an 85 chevy truck? Is there somwhere that might have this info.? Thanks for any help. It has the same switches it seems and both are auto. Just don't know if the wires are the same or the bolts would line up?

Re: Column Change

It won't fit without modifications. The 1988 and up NON squarebody trucks had the part the seals to the floor welded to the column and they squarebody trucks did not. The length may be different as well. I haven't ever measured them side buy side but since I do rebuild steering columns I have had several of both styles. I guess what it comes down to is that anything can be made to work. It just depends on how much time and effort you want to put into it. I wouldn't do it since I feel there are a TON of squarebody tilt columns out there but that is just me.

I will just find one from another square. I have a buddy that said he would just give it to me is why I asked. Thanks for the replies.
