85/86 computer carb
1 Attachment(s)
So I'm helping a buddy out with an engine swap. He has one of the carbs with several plugs to it similar to the picture I've included. We cant seem to locate the 2 plugs on the top of the carb. He's adamant that that is the carb from his original engine. But as I said I can't find any evidence of those electrical connections under his hood. I thought they would have come from the main harness... but could they run from somewhere else? Or were those two plugs on their own harness strand that could have been unplugged from the rest of the group?

Re: 85/86 computer carb
Carb shown in the pic is computer controlled-- you had to adjust the mixture with a dwell meter at a certain rpm, took a special tool down thru the hole in the top of the carb

I have the E4ME Qjet on my 83 Silverado, this was the Computer Command Control system for California cars and trucks only.

Re: 85/86 computer carb
1983-1986 CA trucks had feedback carbs. I would look for the wiring coming out of the firewall above the passenger side valve cover, the computer is mounted above the glovebox inside the cab just like the vehicles that had ESC.
