1960 GMC SWB Fleetside - Under bed mounted fuel tank
 

Whenever I look for a tank at all of the usual places (LMC, classic industries truck and car stop, etc.), there aren't any listed for my 1960 GMC SWB Fleetside. Why is this?

I would like to get the fuel tank out of the cab but there doesn't seem to be any direct fit solutions (as far as I can tell).

The Mustang/Cougar tank works and I like the Early Corvette ones.

I used a 70 mustang tank from rock auto in my 51 Ford...I think with a little work you might find that will work if you can fab up a bracket ...Google spectra F28D for dimensions...good luck

I just put a 17 gallon one from LMC in my 62 c10. I -think- that would be the same as your 60 GMC but I'm sure others would know better than I.
I had to move the rear frame cross-member back a a few inches so the tank would fit up in there, but that wasn't a big deal. Maybe that's why they don't list it as a direct fit for 60-62?

I used a boyds tank, they are a vendor here and I love it search sally for my build thread its on the first page.

I just bought the performanceonline tank for my 62

60-62 kit

I'll update if there are any gotchas.

The POI tank came in and looks nicely built. Sending unit was 90 ohm so I had to order a new 30 ohm replacement. Fits where they said it would for my 62 and the filler neck isn't close to any of the bed supports. I'll be posting pics to my build thread in the next few weeks (once I receive the 30 ohm sending unit).

The 20 gallon tank from Classic Parts of America is a good deal and should fit right in.
