Just bought this 99 Tahoe classic for snow busting. Already did a few things to it like put in new headlights parklights side markers taillights. And replaced both passenger door handles. Dang 95 ups and there trash interior door handles haha. Also got ride of the after market radio and put a factory one in.

Thanks I'm going to get more pictures of it with the new lights and radio. 2wd Tahoe's are hard to find whare I'm from. Got plenty of 2 doors running around so I think that's an even trade. Haha

Re: New to me 99 tahoe classic

Theres not many around here either, 2 door or 4 door. I got this one 5 hours one way, but is from Texas and ZERO rust. I missed out on one earlier this year, was from Florida, it sold, then saw it bout a month ago for sale again, with bad motor. $500. Mine is still cleaner lol....

Re: New to me 99 tahoe classic

I've yet to see a clean tahoe. With no rust. They are all rusty. This one had rust to but that's why I bought it. I can drive it in the winter and keep my rust free 07 classic rust free haha.

Re: New to me 99 tahoe classic

Both of mine are rust free. I bought the Yukon cheap, even tho it needed motor/tranny. But I paid 1200 for it, and included the whipple supercharger. Plus was lifted, most of what's done is what I would want on it if I was to build it. Next step is an SAS, the IFS wanders all over the road. I'm in the rust belt, and seen alot that were rot boxes, and STILL want way too much for em. But I want to drive this in the winter over my Tundra, it's my late fathers and has rust already. Any other vehicle can be replaced, not this one.

Went with stock stile headlights and tails. No pic of tails. I dont like the ricer lights. Stock always looks better to me when it comes to lights. Also hate aftermarket radio's. Manly because they are so ugly. And it's just asking for someone to steal it.

Both of mine have aftermarket in them. One song one pioneer. Neither worked lol. Well the pioneer does but don’t like it. Stock ones ain’t bad, but no RCA’s to add n amp, and sound is limited. I have a kenwood in my Yukon, with cheapo Walmart speakers n sub box from my old car sounds absolutely amazing. Think the radio was $60-70 n $100 on 6 speakers n 4 tweeters. The pioneer has a back up camera, gotta figure that out, be nice to have. PO did some weird **** to this lol....

It had the rca and amp wiring I took it all out I dont ever plan on adding them. I am not a fan of that sort of think in a vehicle. Now at home that's a different story.

Unnecessary. even if it's sort of meant to be funny, it doesn't really come across that way.

I doubt that 71 GMC C15 is going to stop posting, just because of this, haha. But it's easy to see the forum traffic diminishing on a monthly basis and this certainly doesn't encourage somebody to show us what they're working on.

Maybe you don't have much of a sense of humor? The smiley face should have clued you in. That's what it's there for.

. He's what it looks like now. Since I I swapped to the W/t grill. Also have some truck light headlights knock offs. And working side markers. Every thing else is the same.

W/T grill looks good!! I haven’t done anything to mine, need a motor for the Yukon, buddy has a low mileage one for decent price. The Tahoe still going good, put Escalade gauge cluster n center console. Pics for the hell of it. Black is actually a Yukon

Re: New to me 99 tahoe classic

They are alot nicer than the stock ones. i tried to wire up the factory amp/sub, but not sure I did right, but could barely hear. I said screw it and put a box in the back. I found a local yard that has two of em...$50 each i think. Might get em just to hang on to.

Thanks for the responses fellas. I can see the humor now that I know what was intended. But initially, it looked like you were insulting 71s choice and laughing about it. His response certainly reads like he was defending his choice.

Sean, you might want to consider, that instead of questioning my ability to appreciate humor, that maybe your attempt wasn't received as such, through no fault of my own. Emojis can be interpreted differently, but the words were pretty blunt. There was a chance to say something that was actually funny, no emoji, because it's pretty ironic that he took out the stereo you used to replace the stock one, so that he could put the stock on back in.

Thanks for practically calling me a jerk and making me feel bad for trying to be friendly. Your words are pretty blunt too. I'm an unfunny jerk. In my experience that was something a friend would say, good natured ribbing. What a jerk I am for assuming anyone here is my friend. Thanks for bringing me back (mentally) to high school. Maybe you can tell a real funny joke and then punch me in the face for having the nerve to laugh at it. Or perhaps set me up on a date so they can stand me up and we can all have a real good laugh about it later. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go sit at the nerd table to eat my lunch and watch the nerds move to a different table.

I'm sorry I crapped up your thread, but I like your truck.

Very cool! Please continue to update if you can. I've been looking for a 99-04 Tahoe but everything is ragged out here in Missouri. Seems like teenagers are drawn to these because they all look like some kid that didn't care owned them at some point in my area. lol

I decided I did not like the beam pattern of my Amazon headlights. The low beam was pretty good but thate was no difference between the low and high beside when hi beam was on it would put more light directly in front of you. You know the opposite of what a hi beam should do. Other then them looking pritty good I decided to go with the vision x h4 conversion bulbs paired with vison x hi power 80/100 h4 incandescent bulbs. Something that just works. Got tried of leds and there garbage beam patterns.
