Thats a cool truck! I would like to see better pics of the drivetrain. Interesting concept to say the least.

Re: K5 Dually
Someone had too much time on their hands. Must have had a bunch of spare parts laying around, drank a few beers with their buddies and took one look at that blazer in the driveway and said, "Hey Yall...."
Not sure why you would want to do it otherwise, can't tow anything of signifigance with it, the wheel base is still too short. |
Re: K5 Dually
Ya x2 on the wheelbase...I had a 86 GMC Jimmy with the 6.2 in it.Was alright on pavement, but loose gravel roads you had to pay attention. Can't imagine wanting to tow much with it.On snow or ice too was interesting...

Re: K5 Dually
Yeah, I tow with my blazer, but nothing extreme, and I use a load distribution hitch to keep the nose down and make the vehicle much more stable (a must have with a short wheel base like that). Nothing I would need a dually rearend for though  I already have a 1 ton pickup to pull the heavy stuff with.
I'd have to see that in person to make a real judgement on it though. Might look better if you took the rear portion of the roof off to sort of simulate a mini pickup truck, then people would think you sectioned and full size truck  |
Re: K5 Dually
Ya your right there, might look better without the roof. It's probably like you said before,1 too many beers!!!! I guess we are all guilt of that at sometime, myself included!!

well, it's not really a new concept, check out this dually blazer from a 1993 issue of four wheeler. looks better jacked than dropped imo, if you can get past the bijillion lites & pinkness. probably be squirrely for towing, but in the magazine shoot he was getting awesome traction in the sand dunes with over 4feet of rubber on the rear

Re: K5 Dually
I think the idea looks good lifted and lowered... Just not quite my preferred color combo on the lifted one :chevy:

Re: K5 Dually
Lol. I remember when those bright colored windshield wiper covers were popular.

Re: K5 Dually
That's funny,I never noticed the wipers before.Had a set on my 85 4x4 around 88-90!!!!

Re: K5 Dually
looks nice. just needs semi's and a barn door burb rear grafted on and it's golden.

Re: K5 Dually
Many years ago I use to see a dually K5 and dually suburban around Edmond, Oklahoma. I don't think they look that bad.
