Project Tweaked - 2wd Blazer build

Well, this thread has been a long time coming. I'm not real good at taking pictures while working on the truck, but I'm going to get better.

Little did I know when I bought her that she was damaged goods. She took a shot to the right front wheel that was hard enough to bend the frame, hence the name "Tweaked". While trying to install the new core support and align the fenders I realized nothing was lining up correctly. A few minutes of carefully studying the situation revealed the problem. Nothing a couple of hours on a frame machine couldn't correct.

Now that the frame is straight and the front sheet metal is fairly well aligned it is off to the paint shop. I am actually 15 minutes from leaving to take her to get painted and I'm still now sure what I'm going to do. Repaint original two tone or change to a darker shade of solid blue.

Stay tuned to see what I finally decide!

Here are a couple of pics. The first is what I started with. The rest are where she sits waiting to ride to the body shop.

Sweet, personally I like the blue and white factory two tone. Very classy color scheme. Nice work by the way.

Thanks guys! I look forward to getting her on the road. I decided to go back with the factory blue and white two tone.

72SuperCheyenne - Looks like I'll be moving your way in the next month or two. We've been looking at houses in the Wendell/Zebulon area.

Looks like they got busy on it. How long did he estimate he'd need it?

I like the factory two tone as well. Should turn out to be a very nice addition to the family.

Nice project. I agree on the factory color. I've always liked that combo. I hope you like the Wendell/Zebulon area. I live just a few minutes from that area.

Looks like a sweet build! I will follow this as well. I would have voted for the factory colors...so, good choice. Should look great. Nice stance too.

Trying to make sure it's done right. Costs a few extra bones, but worth it in the long run!

More progress: Primered with a guide coat (light blue).

Na I sold him those wheels a few months back. I went back old school with the rallye wheels.

Re: Project Tweaked - 2wd Blazer build

I love the rally's too, have them on two of mine. MC4x4, if you'd have mentioned it I could have brought you some 88-98 5 on 5 plain steel wheels with good tires for paint shop duty. I've got some sitting around I haven't bothered to sell yet.

Holler if you want them before they spray it.

When you get it back we need to do a Flip's cruise-in before you move to NC.

Re: Project Tweaked - 2wd Blazer build

I've already bought a set of 18 inch boss 338's that are going on it. The body shop guy is going to buy Jason's old wheels from me so I suspect he will be careful about getting overspray on them! Thanks for the offer though!

You're on for the cruise in as long as I can get her put back together in time!
