Lowered 4x4 BMW X5 stomper?

This may sound crazy, but has anyone ever seen/built a lowered 4x4 Blazer? I've had some thoughts about building a high hp/tq BMW X5/Porche Cayenne stomper.

I would lower the truck and inch or two, put sway bars front and rear, and large sticky Michelin Pilot tires on big rims on all four corners. Use Baer disk brakes (or equivalant) on all four corners, Bilstein digressive shocks, and a NP203 full-time transfer case with full time AWD. Add a better steering box and some supportive seats, and maybe a good cage to stiffen everything up. Install a fuel injected 500 hp/tq engine with a 700 R4 and 4:11 gears and go SUV hunting. With live axles it probably wouldn't be a threat in the corners, but in a straight line, look out! :burnout:

I think your going to need more than 500 hp to beat the Cayanne Turbo. They are a lot lighter and are packing 450hp @ 6,000 rpm, Torque; 460 lb-ft @ 2,250-4,750rpm, 0-62 mph: 5.6 sec, Top Track Speed: 165 mph. Ya might be able to beat the Cayanne S, with on 340hp, 0-62 mph: 7.2 sec, Top Speed: 150 mp.

why not drop the front suspension from a newer chevy? you'll have 4 wheel drive with the independent suspension.

It is my understanding that the Cayennes are pigs (weight wise). My truck weighs ~3800# with the top on. I don't think I would drive it much faster than 100mph though...

Quick google search revealed 5724 as the curb weight for the Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

Some broker for a winery i'v worked for in the past came out to take the vineyard tour in his Cayenne. They're just dirt vineyard roads, but some are QUITE steep!! Right before everyone loaded up for the 30min or so tour, he PUSSED out and rode in the Durango with me.....HAHA, now that's LAME and the biggest waist of money, IMO. Come on, maybe that was the 2-3% of the time that car would be "off road", and he completely had mixxed feelings and backed out! That LOSER should have gone with a 911
