Parting 69 and 72 trucks

My friend just called tonight and said he got 2 new trucks in his salvage yard. Who wants what? I'll go look this weekend at what he has. Let me know and I'll make up a list.

suville 02-09-2005 10:46 PM

Id be interested in Good rust free inner fenders, especially rt. but will take a pair for my 68C10 project. Let me know what you come up with. The last pair I got from someone in AZ. and shipped Greyhound think it was around $40.Thanks.

Lookin for a good tilt if theres one for a decent price .

Ironhorse 02-09-2005 10:54 PM

I need a GOOD proportioning valve from a disc/drum set up for '71/'72 1/2 ton. See my earlier posting for a pic of the one I need. Bendix brand or style if that makes a difference?

Hotrodhenryj 02-09-2005 10:54 PM

Bill, There is a guy in Tucson who is looking for some GMC fenders and inners, but cant remember his handle, maybe he will see your post. Where is this yard located, maybe I can stop and brouse on my next trip to see my kid.

busterwivell 02-09-2005 11:07 PM

Chuck, you bought a 60 Chevy 2 door post from him a couple years ago at Pomona. Lat me know when you are coming to town, I'll hook you up (hes's closed on weekends; he's in my shop most of the time.

I know there are no tilts, I asked (for me).

Nice 69-70 Grille ?? Thanks

John

Putter 02-10-2005 11:49 AM

How about throttle linkage (rod) for a small block equiped truck. I am changing from inline to V-8 and my stock rod is too short.

53burb 02-10-2005 03:18 PM

I would be very interested in the rearend from either one. Find out the gears for me if you can please, or I can probably tell from which engine/tranny it came with. I am located in Queen Creek, so I can probably pick it up if you never come up this way...

Ptown72Chevy 02-10-2005 04:56 PM

Do you think the salvage yard would cut the roof off one??? If so let me know.. norcalchevy12@aol.com
Where in AZ is it?

meathead95 02-10-2005 04:58 PM

boraxman 02-10-2005 05:15 PM

chipflyer 02-10-2005 05:25 PM

1STtimePRo'71 02-10-2005 07:56 PM

I'm also looking for a ps pump. But I'm in no hurry.

4tiresngas 02-12-2005 11:40 PM

If either has a stepside bed, I need the support brackets for the steps and the braces from the fenders. Thanks

Is it Charlies' yard? I let him steal a 56 Chevy 2-door wagon from me a few years ago (long story). There are a couple of 67-72 trucks in a yard up here too, if anyone is interested I'll look here as well.

boraxman 02-13-2005 01:35 AM

Dude are you out there?

busterwivell 02-13-2005 10:19 AM

He will be here today, didn't get a chance to go yesterday, because we were working on his 56 Chevy all day. I've printed out all the requests and will show them to him and get responses back to you all ASAP.

TRUCKPOOR 02-13-2005 10:51 AM

I'm interested in a nice long bed, prefer something with original paint and no dents. Also need front bmper brkts for a 4x4 and a crossmember for 2wd automatic.

busterwivell 02-14-2005 08:46 AM

He has the list. He knows he has some of the stuff for sure, some he will check and let me know today. I'll get back to you all after he calls me.

busterwivell 02-14-2005 06:50 PM

OK, here's what he called back with:

Suville - inner fenders, $100.00 each, has both sides
c-1072 - tilt column, has a van tilt, $150.00
Ironhorse - doesn't know if proportioning valve is good or not.
olblue60 - only 69-70 grille has damage
Putter - throttle linkage with accel pedal to bolt to firewall $40.00
53burb - has 69 6 lug rear from a 350/350 truck, will pull cover to check if necessary
Ptown72 Chevy - will cut the roof, specify where you want it cut $150/200.00
Meathead95 - No big block brackets, pulleys or ps pump
Boraxman - no AM/FM radios
Chipflyer - no cruise control
1STtimePRo'71 - only have small block ps pumf for short waterpump with brackets $175
4tiresngas - no stepbeds
Warren's69GMC - front fenders $175.00 each, good bedside $150.00
70rs/ss - sounds like love/hate thing....3 speed column, no handle or linkage $125.00
TRUCKPOOR - nice longbed, needs a little work $250.00, no 4x4 stuff, 2wd crossmember $50.00
Hope this helps, let me know if you are interested.

53burb 02-14-2005 07:59 PM

If it came with an auto, it should be a 3.08. Could he pull the cover & check like you had mentioned?? Also, what is he asking for it??

Ironhorse 02-14-2005 08:28 PM

Is the proportioning valve a "Bendix", cast into the inboard or passenger side as it is mounted to the truck. Also has the numbers "0411" cast into same side. Can't see it until valve is pulled from truck. May take a chance on it if price is right. $$$ and shipping to 67152?

Bad Dog 02-15-2005 02:50 AM

I could be in the market for a solid bench seat no holes, or missing springs/lattice work.
