A little less noise please.....

Gentlemen-
Somewhere in the rebuild I neglected to remember just how loud Hooker headers and Cherry bombs can be inside the cab! I have no carpet in the cab yet, and am looking for advice on some sound deadening ideas. I love the rumble and the idle of a big cam, but want to be able to here the oldies station someday! Has anyone got any suggestions?

Turn off the radio,& take off the cherry bombs......it will sound better with open corks!..........69 longhorn.

They sell all sorts of sound deadening matts and things that will fit your truck well. I have some aluminum sided heat/sound shielding under my truck's carpet and the floor is more comfortable as well as quieter. Aside from that take of those cherry bombs and put on some 3 chamber flow masters.

Longhorn-
It does sound good opened up, too bad my neighbors don't enjoy the 6:00 am wake ups that sound like the National trails!!! I do plan to invest into better exhaust cans sometime soon, the cherry bombs were a quick way to get legal after I hopped up the engine.

Haha, my neighbors think Im NUTS! All jokes aside, you need to move the muffs back. I would reccomend a Dyno Max super turbo for a deep, but mellow tone. At about$32 ea through summit racing ,they are hard to beat. You also want the ex pipes out from under the truck(side or rear exit), to cut down on resonance.I would also run an H pipe between the 2 exhaust pipes, as close to the collectors as you can get. that will mellow the note, & give more bottom & mid range power......wont hurt the top power either. good luck......69 longhorn.

I agree with 69 longhorn, I use the Dyno max turbos, 2 1/2" in, 2 1/2" out and dump just before rear axle, still have a little road noise but no big deal.
