yellowed overflow tanks
Hi everyone:
Just curious to know if anyone has found a product or chemical that will take the dingy yellow look out of overflow tanks. I have tried iron out and fine sand paper, muriatic acid and anything else I could think of and not much luck. I like the bright white new look but these items are fine except for the aged yellowing. I thought it was iron deposits but maybe it's just the effects of time. I know I can buy new ones and if no one has a solution then I will do that. |
Did you try bleach, and maybe let it set overnight?

Actually I hadn't thought of that cause the iron out and muriatic acid seemed more potent than anything I had around the house. It sure can't hurt and bleach is cheap enough so I'll try it and let you know the outcome. thanks.

I don't think bleach is going to help. I think it's the plastic yellow as it dries out from age. They are so cheap it's not hardly worth the effort... ;)

Yeah what he said. www.brotherstrucks.com has them for around 8 or 9 bucks.
