Shift Kit

I'm tring to pick out a shift kit for the TH350 in my truck when it gets rebuilt. I really want it to bark the tires in the 1-2 shift, when the engine gets revved up to 3500-4000 rpm. I don't want it to bark the tires when i am just driving around town, around 2000 rpm, because it would proably make my tires not last as long, and attract too many cops. I have a pretty fresh 350 in my truck, with about 300hp. I was looking at a RV/Heavy Duty shift kit, proably a B&M Transpack. Would this shift kit give me a nice, fairly firm shift when i am just driving around, and the tire bark when i mash the throttle? I was also looking at the street/strip Transpack, but i have seen several guys running them, and almost every time their tranny shifts, it barks the tires, even if they are not being heavy on the throttle. So, is the RV/Heavy Duty the one i am looking for?

I used to build transmissions.

My advise.

Trans go!

I talked to the guy who rebuilt my trans 2 years ago and he said he could make the tires chirp on the 1-2 shift @ 3500-4000 rpm using his own kit not sure what he used but 2 years and I have had no problems what so ever with the trans, shifts nice when cruising town and will bark the tires at will when you get on it. Talk to the garage and see what they recommend might be alittle cheaper. Just my .02 good luck

I installed the B&M Shift Improver Kit using the Street/Strip mods. (You can also do the RV/Towing mods.) The part throttle 1-2 shift is a little harder than I'd like but doesn't chirp the tires. At 2/3 to full throttle the tires do more than chirp, they squeal, even with 255x70-15 tires. I have a 3.08 open diff and 2000 RPM stall converter.

I have a TCI TranScat Super II shift kit in the TH350 in my Burb. I installed it myself when I rebuilt the tranny. It has pretty firm shifts and will only bark the tires when I am heavy on the go-pedal. I like it and would recommend it.:D
