breaking down the seat tracks

ok so i started on the bench seat in the 72 today and it appears i have 2 driver tracks. i have a few questions, does the passenger side get a spring like this:

here's te driver side

and there's a hole on the passenger side track and seat frame.

also does the passenger side get a release knob or something. this is what makes me think i have 2 drivers side tracks, if i added a release it would face left and be pointless, but it would need to push the metal pin in from the outside, not pull out so it would be reverse of the driver side.

see they're both the pin and the knobs are on the same side operating in the same direction. the weird part is, my lmc catalog says it's correct.

Not sure which side gets the big spring....but you have the correct tracks.
Drivers side has the lever, when pushed in, it pulls the passenger side in as well allowing the seat to move. You have a cable between the rails. I think stock used a metal rod.

yea thats it. so the driver pulls the knob and both people move their side accordingly?

I would think the pass. side would use the spring, while the driver pulls or pushes that side. I dont have a bench seat to look at or I would go look. John

Re: breaking down the seat tracks
