Hooker Super Comp 2828's or Comp 2454's?

Seen several header posts and sounds like "Hooker" headers are the best option for the 67~72's. I'll be needing to replace the dual exhaust soon and looking at header options.

The truck is stock at the moment but when rebuilt, will have the compression, cam, intake, and heads kicked up a notch or two.

The set I am looking at are the coated 2454 Comp units at MotherTruckers but wondering if the 2826 Super Comps would really be that much better or not.

What have been your experiences with these headers?

No they won't. The supers are 28 inch long tubes, 1 5/8 tube with a 2 1/2 collector. Becuse of the bends in the tubes there difficult to install. The comps are 30 inch long tube, 1 5/8 tube size and 2 1/2 collectors. There made of thicker guage than the Supers, (16g) and there very easy to install. Both work with auto and stick eaqually well. I have both sets and I'm running the Comps. The supers are a little lighter, tuned for more top end and Hooker has a contingecy program for guys racing with Super Comps. For the street, the Comps are the best.:bowtie:
