Wiring door speakers

I know some people don't like the idea of cutting holes in their doors, but I've already made up my mind so don't try to talk me out of it. My question is this: How did all you door speaker guys wire your speakers? I mean going from the door itself to the cab, where and how did you run your wires?

you could just use some coated wires and hand them across or they sell a thing that has a plate on the cab,and one on the door, with medal connecters, they connect when you shut the door, looks slick, seen it on TV,mabe someone will have more info on it...

My truck had speakers in the door. They drilled a hole in the door frame and one in the cab frame with enough slack for movement for when the door opens. I have since removed the speakers and covered the holes, but i did reuse the holes in door frame to run the wires for the remote enrty.

I went out the firewall, along the gutter, behind the fenders, and into the doors. :flag:

I don't have door speakers, but I am running wires for remote entry. I've drilled a small hole in the upper part of the kick pannel. I put in a rubber grommet and dropping my wires into the kick pannel. Then I'm drilling a hole in the jam and a corresponding hole in the door and am using a rubber boot out of a honda CRV to connect the 2 holes. The CRV boot is smooth rubber and is very slim. Should be as least noticable. Plus having a full rubber boot should give maximum protection from wear.
