Ultimate wish-list!!

So, I'm a pretty big fan of "Overhaulin'" on TLC. While I'm not a "bling" type personality I usually LOVE the way the cars on that show turn out.

They do some rediculous stuff on that show. :metal: Especially with the time limit!!

Anyways, to the point of this post. If you got your blazer "overhauled" what would be the items on you're ultimate wish-list? I don't think they would be able to finish all of the things that I'd want done to mine, but if they could, I'd hope they did this:

Wish list for 1972 K5 Blazer

Duramax Diesel - or 8.1 vortec
ZF-6 manual transmission
Doubler - (Off-Road Design or Klune-V)
Rock Jock 60 Front 5.13's ARB 35 spline outer's (maybe Rocks front & rear) - disk brakes all-around
van 14 bolt rear with disks & working parking brake - (maybe out of the same donor for the engine & transmission)
Vanco hydro assist brake system
hydraulic ram assist power steering - (Howe, PSC, Redneck Ram stage 2 I already have a new box)
"hi-steer" crossover steering
39-42" tires with staun internal beadlocks on widened factory HD alloy wheels
trim, trim, trim fenders to keep tires from ripping them up - maybe some bushwacker cut-out flares for a vintage burb.
warn winch(es) 9500 ti minimum
LOW COG!!
York OBA with 3-gallon storage
Ready-welder - Premier power box & alternator
Under hood shower
simple dual optima setup - marine switch, big fuse (batteries mounted along framerail in front of rear springs)
Electric cooling fans with manual override for water-crossings
elevated gear box & axle breather's for water crossings
"water-proofed" mechanicals for water crossings
functional cowl-induction hood with relocated air-intake
"POR"ed (or zero-rust) frame for rust prevention
Custom Flat belly-skid plate - "Massage" floorpan for drivetrain fitment
63" leafs in rear (custom frame mounts with shackle-flip) about 4-5" lift - Sway-A-Way resevoir shocks
center mounted traction bar to limit axle wrap, but not articulation - like Sam's off-road
52" leafs in front (custom frame mounts) about 4-5" lift - Sway-A-Way resevoir shocks
Full "family-style" Cage - kinda like this, but with seat mounts & overhead stringers around the console
full-length 2X6 tube rocker sliders w/ tubular step like All-pro's for toyota's, but actually welded to the 2X6 tube replacing the rockers
Single exhaust tip to exit through p/r quarter in front of rear tire (above rock slider for protection)
custom fuel tank with integrated steel diamond plate skid
custom aux fuel tank where oem is currently with skid
Custom canvas soft top (for when the camper isn't on) - Oh I wish Can-Back would make more than one of these
Tubular bumpers like Off-Road design's version & something similar in back with full-sized spare capabilities, as well as 60" hi-lift, shovel
autometer phantom gauges in factory bezel
additional gauges along a-pillar if needed
tahoe seats - (split removable 3rd seat in rear) in tan
nice sound system that doesn't take up much space
automated 8" flip-down touchscreen above rear view mirror for carpc interface
"spotter" camera's in wheelwells protected somehow (lexan)
front-facing camera & rear-view camera that automatically switches on when put in reverse
vintage air a/c heat system - maybe smooth firewall
no carpet (hose-outable) - already have a perma-tech liner in it.

Form follows Function!! It has to work first, then look cool!

Now keep in mind that this is a "pie in the sky" money, time, & talent is no object, type of fantasy, that I don't think even the "great Foose" could finish in one month, much less a week. Is that a run-on sentence?

But I'd sure like to see him try. :c2:

What do you guys think?

cut down suburbans are pretty cool too. for steering you can also check out http://performanceoff-road.com/ .......i dont like plush in a trail rig.....but im a bare bones kinda guy...i also think a wayyyyyy tricked out 5.7 ls1 ..alum block/head small block. and if your spendin all that green you need to go ahead a link it front/rear and do coilovers..tuneable predictable suspension rocks. 700r4 trans built by bob harrison at tci 3:1 atlas or 3:1 205 or stak 3 speed.....thats a pretty even race in my mind just depends on what you want. i do like the rock jock choice but im not sure if there what you want really long term in something you build to abuse....but anything can will break.
but thats just me

Come Awn Guys!! What if there is a master plan going on behind you're back? How will anybody know what you want? :hm:

BTW, I've been a member for a while, but I mostly lurk. That's how I know where to find what I want.

I've had this Blazer for 12 years now. It'll run with a jump, but it needs a LOT of work. I am almost finished rewiring it, (just need to repair the wiper circuit, & get the heater going again, small stuff), but it needs a new steering box, so then I might as well do the crossover... well don't want to have to do it twice, so I might as well put in a D60... Oh crap, that means I need the 14-bolt for the rear... New wheels & tires...might as well lift it while I'm here....

& so on, & so on.

Chip Foose, please come rescue me!!

Don't get me wrong, I like, (used to love) working on my truck, but maybe I'm losing steam, & seeing it rotting away here in Buffalo, because I don't have a place to work on it, just ticks me off. :whine:

Anyways, it also kind of gives me a little bit of direction. Maybe I won't try to do it all at once.

Pick a project, work it out, pick another project. I could definitely get by without the rock jock, but it sure would be nice to have someday.

Bottom line is, I need to get it driveable again. It won't self-heal, so I have to get busy.

Later,

Buddy

Santa Clause
The Tooth Fairy
The Easter Bunny
And the perfect 69-72 Blazer..
All of which only exist in our minds.

But if we were dreaming dream of finding a 69 Blazer in a barn covered with a tarp, with only 20k on it, factory air, and 0 (ZERO) rust......
not having to do anything but clean and wax...that is what I want......

Wish list, I just wish that I can find all the parts I have bought in the last 2 years, and find the time to put everything together, whenever that day is!!!
