Kickplate speaker panels
Passenger side took some trimming, but it's in.
Driver side won't clear the slider rod for the vent (72) Looks like it would fit if I can get it past the door lip on the cab. Can't do that 'cause of the vent handle rod. Do I have to cut a slit in there for it to clear? Thanks |
Yep - i meant kick panel:)

Did you trim it where it is scribed on the back?
I had to trim mine a little on the back side (side against the firewall) to get it to lay smooth under the door rubber. RON |
When i installed the speakers in my '72, i just cut the plastic with a jigsaw so they would fit around the vent handles. Another option would be to remove the handle, slide the speaker under it, and drill holes through the plastic so the vent handle would be on the outside of the speaker.

Yellow72custom - Great idea! Many thanks.
Found out you have to peel back the carpet and pad first, then squish it back in after the install. Think I might put a screw or two in each side to make them tight to the kick panel. Hope I don't have to use the emergency brake. Pretty tight fit. Thanks again. |
Do you guys have a pic of your kickpanel installed?. I want the same thing but I can't believe this will work with the e-brake.

No money for a digital camera. It all went for truck parts.:)
The panel clears the e-brake, but your foot hadn't better stick out past the left side of the peddle. |
