Time for a radio, need suggestions on install
I've been driving the beater over 100 miles a day lately and it's getting time for a radio.
My dash is stock and has a radio block off plate. I want to add a stereo but will not modify the dash. I'm figuring on doing a glove box install. How about speakers? I have the stock gas tank. I was thinking about building some fancy kick panels for 6.5's. Anyone got pictures of some? I'm open to ideas... |

A radio in the glove box would be great as long as it had a remote which most new ones are available with. 6.5s would be good in the doors and maybe two 4" speakers were the factory speaker would go. I saw the pics of your truck and your car from your sig and I love them both.

How about building some of these. They are very easy and from what I have seen you fabricate should be right up your alley. Some MDF board, some "fleece" material from Wal-Mart and some fiberglass resin will get you started and then add some more fiberglass mat to strengthen and then some filler to smooth out and there you go.

That's what I was thinking about on the kick panels. I don't want speakers in the door, so I'm afraid that's my only option.
Can I get one of those Ipod deals and an adapter to run it through my Kenwood so I could leave the glovebox door closed most times and just fool with the little Ipod deal to change songs? |

I always thought it would be cool to french in a DIN sized deck and then use a radio delete plate as a hinged cover. With the cover closed, it's all hidden.

FrizzelFry just posted this recently on making kick panels:
