flush fit door handles

my son visited yesterday, he has a 1994 chevy half ton and it has
flush door handles. I don't want to go the shaved route. I sure looks
to me like you could cut this handle out and weld it in our doors. This
particular handle had no plastic in it. I'm not sure about hookin up the
opening mechanism etc. Has any body got any pictures of doin this
or any website kits etc. Thanks
