Re: 2.5 ton rockwell axles in a 67-72
I built a bogger from a `71 GMC K1500 that I used 2 1/2T Rockwells in.I had pictures on the computer before I lost all my files.I haven`t been able to get my scanner to install onto my computer.I had to mount saddles to fit the Jimmy leafs and I ran the Rockwell duece & a quarter t-case and d-shafts.

I am completly new at the internet thing. I have some pictures on page 19 of 4x4 pictures. 1972 stepside 4 linked with rockwells. It is my project for the last six months. how do i go about putting a series of pictures up. I read somewere that there is a 5 picture max. Is that true?

Re: 2.5 ton rockwell axles in a 67-72
You can post more in a "link",5 is the limit. But,don`t ask me how.I`m right behind you with my dunce cap.
I`m going to Walmart with a bunch of old photos and having them scan and download onto a disc. For less than $5 I can have them do what my lame arse can`t. |
Re: 2.5 ton rockwell axles in a 67-72
These were the only two I could find from right before it got hauled off.I know there are some of it in action.I didn`t take them,of course.I should have them somewhere. There were other pictures I couldn`t find, also.Guess I need to make another cd when I come across them.

Re: 2.5 ton rockwell axles in a 67-72
12" Superlift for`73-87,IIRC.The mounts were made to drop it a bit, too. In the rear we made blocks that were traction bars that came forward about 5' to bushed pivot mounts. They didn`t make 12" rear springs. We fabbed bars for up front, too.

Mudder,I remember that one.I had that and another on my computer I wish I had stored.I looks like that`88-up is bent in that first pic.
Towstrap, where the heck have you been?I see you have all the goods in one pic. Can`t wait to see that altogether.I`m sure not as bad as you do. Ironman97459,that would be great to see. Can`t tell much once a body is on. |

ironman, looks good, i actually see some similarities in our builds, like the way you built your hangers.

Hangers are real similar since I stole some of your ideas. The inside plate goes all the way to top of frame though.
The brakes are 6x6 2 ton setup. |
