Not a truck buuuuut:

I horse traded for a 72 Vega about three years ago. After digging it out of the delapidated garage it had been in since 77 I decided it was in too rough of shape after further inspection. The original owner I got it from told me the motor was blown and I took his word for it. Thanks to e-bay I have a rust free one now and a tube chassis car for it. Well, I took a week of vacation to clean up around the shop and haul scrap in since it had went up so much. I just kept this car for the original title and a few parts and was going to cut it up. After a few hours of drinking I was coaxed into dragging it from my house and putting a battery in it. To my amazement everything still worked but the backup lights the horn and the motor didn't run. To shorten the story up a little I put a new timing belt and gas in it and filed the points and my daughter and I drove it around town today. It looks like crap but runs and drives pretty good and is actually pretty solid underneath and is now going to be my daily work car for now.:metal:

Umm, ok, what motor is in it? BTW: put down the drink for a sec. You forgot to say... Unless it was me. Possible...

I had a Vega back in the days. It lasted half way home on the original motor for $100 and the guy was pissed off to sell it to me. I wanted the CO Jeep in the front yard actually...

I had a 71 for the summer of 78. It blew up and I sold it to my brother. Remember when they used to put 350s in them. Nice body style and with a 350 heck of a car.

I will have the last of the motor parts for the tube chassis set up at the end of the month. So far I have a 4 bolt 400 block with a steel 350 crank, Vortec rods with arp bolts and bushed for full floating pins and Keith Black 182 .150 pop ups. The heads I am getting are Track 1's fully prepped with a 620 lift solid roller valvetrain. The intake I already have is a Wiend tunnel ram with 660 center squirters. I have a powerglide to rebuild. The chassis already has a narrowed 12 bolt with a 4.30 spool and 31.5 13.5 15 Good year slicks on Weld Pro stars with a 4 link setup and QA1 shocks. I have a long way to go but have a good start.

My 1st car was a 71 vega. I was 14 and bought it for a way to stay outa trouble. Dad figured if I was working on it, I would be at home instead of runnin the streets. Well after puttin a mild 327 in it and a 4 speed and a 9", I ended up gettin into trouble with it. So it went bye bye. Would love to still have it that thing was fun. Lets see some pics!
