Electric choke wiring
 

I recently transplanted a mildly-built '66 327 in my '66 Chevy C20 Custom Camper. It has an Edelbrock carb with an electric choke. I have never wired one before, so what do I need to do with the two terminals on the electric choke? I assume one is a ground and the other a power source, but I would like know for sure. Can one of the resident experts here on the forum chime in with direction on properly hooking up an electric choke?

You've got it. One is ground (I use the one of the choke screws for that) and the other is switched 12v (ignition hot).

I have seen the ground wired, as you suggested, to one of the electric choke assembly screws. Should I pick up a switched 12v source at the fuse block, requiring a home run through the firewall to the panel or can I pick it up at the HEI (+ ignition) wire/terminal?

I'd leave the HEi stuff alone. I've tapped into one of the hot wires for the wiper motor or if you're more ambitious, you can run it into the fuse block.
