Is there a part number...

... stamped anywhere on an OEM grille for a 72?

I don't see one on mine, but that's not to say the PO swapped it at some point. I'm asking because I may buy one that's "NOS - in the box".
Is there a way to tell the difference from a repro when you don't have a known OEM to compare it to? I'm sure the aluminum is thinner and lightweight, but is there any specific, obvious detail?

Thanks

I bought a repro outer grille . I'm happy with it. I don't think (or cant tell) it's any lighter. Fits and looks great. I'd take a NIB OEM piece over the re-pop, but I don't think I'd give much extra for it.

When daylight comes I'll go look over my old outer grille for you.

Checked it out. Sorry there is no visible part number on it.

Thanks SoM,

The guy I might buy it from sounds honest enough, but I just got a bit skeptical when he asked me if I want the GM box it came in. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but there's really no stopping someone from throwing a repro in an OEM box and selling it as a NOS original.

I appreciate you taking the time to check it out.
