73-87 djm drop spindles on a 72 c10
I wanting to go 3" djm drop spindles and cut front springs
I have searched and read for a while. 72 lwb with factory disk brakes Just need clarification- Do I just need to swap ball joints to 73-87 or do I need to 73-87 swap tie rods also? That is where I'm confused. Thanks in Advance, Chris |
Re: 73-87 djm drop spindles on a 72 c10
You can swap the outer tie rod and the ball joints to make this work since you have a 72.
I think one of the ball joints is actually the same. (lower?) Maybe someone will clarify this. (or ask your local parts house guy) I did it years ago before 71-72 spindles were available and I only had to swap one of the ball joints. If they need replaced,... just use the 73-87 ball joints since they are cheaper anyway. |

Swap the upper ball joints and outer tie-rods. Make sure you get the 1.25" rotor version so you can re-use your existing brakes...
