Question for the first gen S10 gurus here..
4 Attachment(s)
I'm posting these pics to see if anyone has any information about trucks like these.
This is an 87, which I bought new in 1988. It came with a 2.8, 7004R, and the fiberglass stepside bed. there was a "park avenue" badge on the tailgate. It lived a happy life with me until 1998.. it got hit hard in a chain reaction, and I couldn't save it.. When it died, it was on it's second 2.8, and third transmission. when I bought it, I got some song and dance from the dealership about how rare they were, etc, etc.. I only saw one other one like it in my life ( an S15 painted the same way ), and I did see a red extended cab with the same bed, running around here in cleveland.. I just liked the way it looked, so I brought it home.. it was my first new vehicle.. anyway, here are the pics..any additional info would be helpful. |

I think there used to be an aftermarket bed available as a dealer install (or something like that). I saw a few on Chevy Luv trucks...

Yep and the fenders and steps were copies of the 73 and up versions. Used mostly on Japanese mini pickups.

I saw this on s10forum, and immediately came over here to update the other thread. I too would like to know more about these.

Re: Question for the first gen S10 gurus here..
Is the bed fiberglass or metal??? If it's fiberglass, it is likely a conversion truck.. My cousin had a chevrolet LUV with the same bed, and same paint scheme, only the colors on his truck were all base on purple...
