Amp Wattage
I have these 10's and wanted to know what size amp I should go with. It will be the only thing that will be ran off the amp.

Re: Amp Wattage
What model/voice coil configuration are they?

Re: Amp Wattage
It looks like the absolute max power handling is 125w @ 4ohm each.
An amp that puts out 250-300wRMS @ 2ohm or @ 8ohm depending on how you want to wire them. Pull one of the subs out and find the power hook ups. There should be something there that will tell us what ohm the voice coil is. |
Re: Amp Wattage
On the back of the sub it say 10 W O(with a line through it) and then 8. So I would assume they are 8 ohm.

Re: Amp Wattage
Yep, 8ohm. You can wire them in series which would bring it down to a 4ohm load. Most small monoblock amps can handle this no problem. just be careful not to give them tons of power. 300w total would be the MAX I would subject these woofers to.
Look at an Arc Audio KS125.2 Mini or KS500.1 Mini. Even the KS300.2 would work well. I know you're going with other speakers, and I'm not sure if you have another amp yet, but the KS900.6 amp from Arc Audio would be ideal for your set-up. |
Re: Amp Wattage
So just a 300W mono amp will take care of both of them?
