1988 2wd front crossmember fit a 1983 c-10?

Will a 1988 chevy/gmc 2wd crossmember fit a 1983 c-10?

I am trying to lift my 2wd GMC c-10. I can't find any lifts higher than 3" but the 1988 c1500 can go high as 6". People have said it can...but has anyone out there really done this? have pics? I can get a 1988 crossmember pretty cheap, but I dont want to have to modify everything!

Any Help Thanks.

P.S. First time posting and this site rocks!!!

The 6" lift for the 88 C1500 is for the newer body style, the frames are completely different than the 87 & down trucks. On the 87 & down trucks the crossmember unbolts, starting in 88 C1500 crossmember is part of the frame, unless it's a Blazer, Suburban or Crew Cab then it's like the 87 & down till 1991.

Welcome to the site! ;)

Primer70 is right you are looking at custom work if you want to go higher. We do have a guy that is on here that did a all custom front end and it's like 6". Maybe he will see this and post for ya..
