72 SWB to LWB

Finally startin a thread on my progress, thanks for everyone help. Ive had this truck for quite a while and have been trying to decide on what i am going to do with with it. Bought from original owner who bought it at my local chevy dealer. 1972, 250 I6, 4 speed.plans are to shorten bed and chassis and flip the rear axle and install drop spindles. Then drop member down the road.

Heres the truck

When you're in the "Projects and Builds" section's main forum page, look in the lower right corner and you'll see a list of "moderators" for this particular forum, they're names will be in a green color. Send anyone of them a PM with a link to this thread asking to change the title and they should take care of it for you.

Great job on the bed, it looks like you won't need to do any bodywork to your welds!

i cant decide what i want to do about a bed floor, i really want a wood setup but seems pricey.any body buy the cross sills and the stainless strips and cut up their own wood?

You need a fire extinguisher, you get a spark on those leg hairs and it's all over!:D

Looks good, Rg

I was going to make my own bed wood, you just need to do a dado and you're in. If you want fancy buy oak, it'll still be way cheaper than buying the wood for a "bed kit". Looking good so far!

Looks really good. Keep in mind if you decide on a wood floor the headgates are different from wood to steel floors, now would definitely be the time to decide.
