Just got done painting my truck. i still have a few more coats to do to the primer, but i finished the top in a glossy stadium blue or something like that. it was a rustoleum glossy.

hopefully these all show up. thanks for the feedback, i knwo its not super great, but for spending 30 bucks it looks damn good

i didnt mean to match the interior but i kind of did, i almost went for Key Lime. but thought it might be to flamboyant haha the passenger side still needs a coat or 2

Bro, if you lived closer i'd to the painting for free if you bought the supplies! If you can spray paint that well then you can learn to operate a paint gun!

Re: Not Bad for Spray Paint!

Billet wheels, billet steering wheel and $20 paint! Just dont make any since to do all that work(truck looks pretty straight) for a crap paint job. MAACO would be 1000 times better job than rattle cans.

Yeah, it takes real skills to shoot from a can. :lol:At least take a little more time to tape up the rubbers around the windows. That will cheapen the looks of a paint job almost as fast as rustoleum.

Re: Not Bad for Spray Paint!

ya just buy the rustoleum in a quart of the color you want... setup a HVLP gun and start spraying.....roof looks great

Maybe you would consider getting off the guys back.

Your way is just that… YOUR way, and to each his own.

Besides, I want to hear about what everybody doese… his, mine and everybody else’s is just as interesting to read about.

Your right.... it IS his truck. my OPINION is, it doesn't make since to have more money in a steering wheel than in your paint job. Hell, he'll have money money filling his truck with gas than in the paint job. For a couple of hundred bucks you can prep your truck yourself, send it to MAACO and get a decent paint job. And I still stand by my comment about taking 5 more minutes to do a better job tapping up the rubbers around the windows.

And besides, when he decides to paint his truck for real, he'll be SORRY that he sprayed rustoleum on it. It will ALL have to come back off.

I like what you've done, HotGMC. I hope you used one of those spray can trigger attachments.

Vintagesteel, you might have some good advice for him, but dropping it on his head is no way to do it. We're all here because we love our trucks and we do the best we know how.

Re: Not Bad for Spray Paint!

anybody notice the shaved door handles?????

I wil say take your time taping or just pull the window...( most around here need a good sanding and painting behind the rubber anyway and it takes 5 min to put back in ).....

as far as rustoleum my truck was sprayed by PO runs everywhere ( he was at best a hack) I will say it sands off pretty easy...it was the 5 other coats under it that where a PIA

I think your heading in the right direction now get that girl down on the road and let her eat!!!

Truck looks good! I wouldn't mind seeing it on a flat surface so we can check out the stance. What drop do you have?

Re: Not Bad for Spray Paint!

Ok I appologize. I shouldnt have just popped in and started in. WHY did you decide to use rustoleum? The amount of work that looks like has been done to the truck(looks pretty straight, shaved emblems, door handles, ect...).does the truck not deserve a better paint job? No matter what you do, it will ALWAYS be a rattle can paint job at best. Like I said before, for a couple hundred bucks you could have prepped the truck and taken it to MAACO and had a decent job done.

What would be the point in this? To SHOW you what I know? I'm just asking legit questions( Why did he decide on using rustoleum? And with all the work it looks like he's done, does his truck NOT deserve to have a better paint job? ) and giving advice(For a couple of hundred dollars, MAACO will put decent paint on). If his truck DOESN'T desrve a better paint job, then go for it. If he stops and thinks about it and decides it DOES, then it will SAVE him money because then it wont have to have all that rattle can stripped back off for a better job.

Re: Not Bad for Spray Paint!

That's as good a job as I have ever seen any MAACO do.
