The best of times...the worst of times...

I haven't posted mu ch lately...I've been working daily on the pig getting the 1/2 ton rear-end in...many thanks to all of you who have offered advice and tips. Today was D-day....with my twin sized u-joint and new brakes lines ran into my new brake parts, I had my mind set on a 1/2 hour of finals...and a test drive in the sunset...only to find out that the F#$%@*G drive shaft is just about 1/2 to 3/4 inch TOO LONG. If I got it wedged in, it would have no room to move. So...the shaft is in the back of my work truck, and the '67 once again spends another day in an auto coma. Just a tip to anyone considering this conversion.....do NOT under-estimate the job. It looks so simple to be such a pain. The 3:73's better be worth it!

I think you will be happy with the 3.73, that is if you like strong pull of the line. I have a Dakota R/T (backup when the Cheyenne ever goes down hill). It has 3.92 gears and a very tight posi unit from Dodge. I love it. With the auto overdrive it only turns about 2700 at 80 mph.
