Gonna live a rust free life in LA

Well, the day has come and went. I sold my 69 project that I've worked on for the last 3 years. Overall, I'm happy with the sale. I ended up right side up, and the transaction went smooth as can be. It was an ebay deal, and the buy arranged shipping.

I really do have to thank this forum for the sale though. When i talked to the new owner, he told me how he spent over 2 hours on here reading my build thread, and a couple others. He was really stoked to see the whole build progress. So much so, that he didn't ask me a single question before bidding (i have to say that worried me a bit).

The shipper showed up today and loaded the old girl up. I tried to convince the guy to leave the V12 twin turbo Mercedes with me, but he declined :(

There is an empty spot in your garage now...you better get another truck quick before your wife (if you're married) tries to claim that open space.

it's a 3600, and everything has a price. My dad seems to think i need to put a price of $25k on it due to all the looks it gets at the shows...

Brings a little tear to my eye, this truck was one of the first build threads I really really watched when I first joined.

My neighbor I helped build his`68 shortbed with (that is barely done) is a Chevy guy.He did build a`41 Dodge (w/350/TH350) and had a`52 Ford years ago.He is hot to get a Unibody shortbed, too.i think they`re cool. They are definately a stand out vehicle.

I should also clarify that the ford idea is to flip it. I can get the truck for next to nothing, spend the winter on body work, paint and sell in the spring. i figure it will be easier to let go of a ford than a chevy.

I am kicking around the idea of using the ford 4.6 out a buddy's lincoln, along with the IRS. That would be kinda fun to do, and the 4.6 parts are cheap to make good power.

same plan as before. pull all the air sutff out of the bed, sheetmetal it all in nice and build some sort of cover for it all. Depending on how things go, I may go through the motor and add a few horsey's to it. The interior needs to get done too.

time will tell.

My grandpa had one when I was about 12, a 3/4 ton 2wd. Red and white. Kinda wanted it to be my first vehicle, but didn't happen. I still like them, so no kicks from here!

Well congrats on the 69 sale. And you have done a lot in a short time on the 50 too. I'm not a fan of the unibody trucks but I see one pop up in a mag from time to time. They are different and I guess that's what draws people to them. The 60's era vehicles are 40 + yrs old now and with the price of scrap metal these days it'll be even harder to find decent, buildable ones.
If ya have the time I'd say buy it n flip it.

:whine:..Man, I didn't even get a ride in it... Anyways, glad you made the sale and are happy with the outcome. There is a unibody here in town that has been sitting for a while.
