Glovebox woodgrain

Need to sand the glovebox door and need to know how is the woodgrain panel on the glovebox attached so I can remove it? I don't see any screws or clips going through and I don't want to ruin it

Remove the old "woodgrain" decal with paint removal. Repaint the glove box door, purchase a new "woodgrain" decal from a 67-72 reseller. There is a difference between a Cheyenne and a Cheyenne "Super". The Cheyenne "Super" decal has chrome trim and an emblem. New "woodgrain" decal, $19.95. "Woodgrain" decal also available for the dash bezel.

it is glued on. should come off by pulling it. then you can re glue it. here is a pic of mine removed. http://www.noscade.com/72%20chevy%20paint/MVC-766F.JPG

Like ftw80 said, if it's the original, it's glued on - the original panels weren't decals. You have to be really carful taking it off or you will bend it. Mine was in bad shape and I was going to replace it, but I still was going to try and get the old one off without damaging it, but I wound up bending it in several places. Maybe if you poured some paint thinner or lacquer thinner behing the panel it would soften up the glue, but I don't know - that's some tough glue they used and it's had 30 years to cure.
