69-72 Blazer Seat Bolt Configurations...
 

So from doing some research...I found out the following:

Utility Bucket Seats [UBS] and Standard Blazer Buckets [SBB] have a different bolt hole measurements...

I also have found that the 73+ high back buckets share the same bolt hole configuration that the 72 SBBs - since I had a pair bolted into my 72 Blue Blazer.

I also have found out that 73+ low back buckets do not share this same bolt hole configuration as well...

So can we get some pix and measurements of the differences so we can add it to the FAQ section.

Not sure if these are year specific, but feel free to post up what you have as well so we can all be in the know.

I see seats all the time for sale and want to be sure that they will fit with the bolt hole configuration that I have...or if I will need to fab something up.

Also in the UBS, I have found out that they sit at 2 differant angles. 1 being more of the upright position, and 1 more laid back...confirm, deny?

This seems to be true for both Jimmys and Blazers...see below.

Not sure about the angle differences...but I did some more digging.

There are at least 2 different sets of brackets for the Blazer/Jimmy seats

69 and 70 - regular buckets and utility buckets utilized an off-center (near the passenger side door) seat release.

Does anybody have a 69-70 Blazer in the garage that they can go check the floor brackets on and post up some pix?

The 71-72 standard and utility use the center floor release with different brackets...

The pic below shows the utility buckets with a center release - I have seen plenty of 71-72 seats with the center release - but if somebody has some to post up so we can see them.

Might I sugest that pictures of all the different types of seat tracks be entered and labeld as per year and type of seat accompanied by measurements of floor pan bolt patterns .That way a person can log on and pick a configuration and direction for any particular restoration project.I know I had problems with that and came up with a hybrid seat track that is same bolt pattern as my floor pan and also same bolt pattern as bottom of seat. Alot of work to do but the result is orig looking .I will post pics if this thead catches on .

The first pic in post #3 is my 1970 Jimmy. Those seats in it, we determined were not original. They're either 73+ or at least the frames are SBB from a later year than 1970. The drivers holes were not correct and the release for the passenger side was centered but my floor had the holes off to the side. I had some other pics on that same thread on here.
