1997 brake rotor problem
 

Ordered a set of front rotors for my 97 S10 Blazer and they will not fit. they are about a 1/4 in diameter difference. Built in October of 96. Would this possibly be parts from a 95 or 96 that would fit? Rotors are definitely bigger and will not fit.

Where did you order them from? Sounds to me like you got the wrong parts period. I would definitely double check to make sure you got the correct ones. Heck they could have sent you some for a totally different vehicles, like camaro, or something of that nature.

Parts were from NAPA.

I would call and talk to a different guy. Have him verify the part number. If it is the same number, ask if they have another set encase yours are boxed wrong. Have them check the numbers for '96 and '98 too. I think the '98 rotors are different. I think that is when the Blazer got the duel piston caliper. Also make sure the parts guy is looking it up for a blazer and not a pickup too.

I worked in a parts store for three years. Stuff like this can happen on the simplest things like brake rotors. It could also be the person looking them up. I can't believe how many parts guys will not write down vehicle info and then ask you three or four times what they should have written down to begin with. Or when they ask a question that has no relivence to the part. "What air freshener does it have?"
