lift blocks or new springs??

Just wondering if you guys have had any bad experiences with lift blocks on your rear springs?? My springs are fine, so i figured i could save some money by going with blocks and just put new springs on the front.
it's a 71 4x4

Springs

In my opinion lift blocks aren't really a bad thing, however they do have a tendency to flatten your spring sooner than normal. I just had my rear springs re-arced and they added a leaf to give me more lift. I had my front and rears done for $215, with 3 inches of lift.

Hope that helps

why not try a shackle flip?

I've been running 4" blocks on the rear for years and never had any problems. I wouldn't go any bigger than that, for sure.

hey smith....when they added the extra leaves, did it harshen your ride a lot?? I did that same procedure a few years back on my Jeep yj, and hasn't happy with it

I haven't put them on yet, so I couldn't tell you, sorry

I second the idea of Offroad Design's shackle flip. I'm happy with mine.

Springs. The GM springs are just too soft IMO. I have a set of National 3/4 ton rated 4" lift springs in the Jimmy.

I had troubles with blocks. Too much torque with the 4 speed. Spring wrap up was horrendous, and the blocks actually bent the perches.

springs

I purchased a tuff country kit for 365 and ordered a set of rear springs from hell creek suspensions out of georgia for an additional 125. you can find them selling on ebay and just send them an email. I had no problems with the blocks just didn't trust them on the trails.

the add a leaf deal will give you a harsher side, food for thought
